Your Gate Is the First Impression of Your Home

A custom iron gate isn't just security. It's architecture. It's curb appeal. It's the statement piece that defines your property before visitors even reach your front door.

1

Design Session

We bring design books and tablets to your property. Match your home's style: Spanish Colonial, Modern, Tuscan, Contemporary.

2

Engineering Drawings

We provide CAD drawings showing exact dimensions, scrollwork details, and color samples before fabrication begins.

3

Lifetime Quality

Powder-coated steel that resists fading, rusting, and peeling for 15+ years. Our oldest Phoenix gate is 22 years old and looks new.

Why Our Powder Coating Outlasts Standard Paint

Arizona's UV Index 11+ sun destroys standard automotive paint in 3-5 years. You've seen it: faded gates, peeling paint, rust bubbles forming underneath.

We don't paint. We powder coat using a high-temperature baking process that chemically bonds protective coating to the steel at 400°F.

1

Sandblast to Bare Metal

We remove all mill scale, rust, and contaminants using 80-grit aluminum oxide media. This ensures perfect adhesion.

2

Zinc-Rich Primer Coat

We apply zinc-rich primer (the same used on Navy ships). If the topcoat gets chipped, zinc prevents rust from spreading.

3

Electrostatic Powder Application

We spray electrostatically charged powder particles that wrap around every surface. Coverage is 5x thicker than liquid paint.

4

400°F Bake Cycle

The gate bakes in a curing oven at 400°F for 20 minutes. Heat causes the powder to melt, flow, and chemically crosslink into a rock-hard finish.

The Result

  • UV Resistant: Won't fade or chalk even at UV Index 11+
  • Impact Resistant: Won't chip from flying rocks or hail
  • Heat Resistant: Steel surfaces reach 150°F+ in summer - powder coat doesn't soften
  • Warranty: 10-year guarantee against rust-through, fading, and peeling

Engineering for Arizona Wind & Heavy Gates

A 16-foot iron gate weighs 400-600 lbs. In 40+ mph monsoon winds, improper engineering causes sagging, hinge failure, and motor burnout.

Gate Structure

  • Frame: 2" x 2" x 1/4" steel tubing (not thin-wall conduit)
  • Infill: 1" square or 5/8" round bar (14-gauge or heavier)
  • Diagonal Bracing: Prevents racking and sagging over time
  • Wind Load Rating: Engineered for 90 mph wind gusts

Post & Hinge System

  • Posts: 6" x 6" steel posts set 42" deep in concrete
  • Hinges: Heavy-duty ball-bearing hinges rated for 800+ lbs per gate leaf
  • Post Spacing: Maximum 8-foot gate leaf width (16 ft total for dual swing)
  • Automation: Commercial-grade operators rated for gate weight

Custom Iron Gate FAQs

Design approval to installation typically takes 6-8 weeks. This includes 2-3 weeks for design/engineering drawings, 3-4 weeks for fabrication, and 1 week for powder coating. Rush orders (4 weeks) available for $500 expedite fee.
Standard paint peels and fades in Arizona's UV Index 11+ sun. We use high-temperature baked powder coat (400°F cure cycle) that chemically bonds to the metal. It's 5x thicker than paint and resists chipping, fading, and rust for 15+ years without maintenance.
Yes. We specialize in Spanish Colonial (scrollwork, clavos, arched tops), Modern Horizontal (clean lines, geometric), Tuscan (curved bars, simple elegance), and Contemporary (mixed materials like wood/metal combos). Bring photos of your home and we'll design gates that complement your architecture.
True "wrought iron" is rare and expensive. We fabricate with 1" square steel tubing (14-gauge or 11-gauge for heavy gates) which is stronger and more affordable. The term "wrought iron" commonly refers to the decorative style, not the actual metal. Our steel gates outlast true wrought iron in Arizona conditions.
Simple modern horizontal gates start at $3,500 for a 12-ft span. Spanish Colonial gates with scrollwork start at $6,000. Large estate gates (16-20 ft) with complex designs range $10,000-18,000. Price factors: gate width, height, design complexity, automation system, and whether it's swing or cantilever slide.
Not with proper treatment. We sandblast all steel to bare metal, apply zinc-rich primer (stops rust at the molecular level), then powder coat with UV-stable finish. Even if the coating gets chipped by rocks, the zinc primer prevents rust from spreading. We offer a 10-year warranty against rust-through.
